Rotary Club of Mysore is the first club in the
RI District 3180. The club started with a membership of sixteen in the year 1944 and today
we are 100 members strong. Rotary Club of Mysore, which later came to be called as Rotary
Mysore, is affectionately referred to as the 'Mother' of all clubs in RI District 3180.
We are happy that the desire of our members to serve the society has been successfully
harnessed and channelised in our community projects ever since the year 1944. We identify
community needs, we find innovative solutions, we contribute our time and money, and we
take the lead in doing what must be done to improve the quality of life for those in need.
Guided by the principles of fairness and decency and our overriding goal of world
understanding and peace, we have inspiration and the strength to change our world. True,
we cannot solve every problem, but we definitely can be trendsetters.
We realize "It is better to light a candle, than curse darkness".
We have built strong fellowship within the club by giving all our members an opportunity
to realize each of their dreams Rotary Dreams by shouldering responsibilities to fulfill
the objective. Our projects have not only had positive impact on the society at large, but
also a Human Touch.
It is the determination, to serve the needy, the downtrodden, and the physically
challenged, that has "kindled the Spark" within the members at Rotary Mysore,
that we have taken 'Time to Serve' and towards this have embarked on numerous projects, to
'Reach out' and provide succor and relief to the best of our ability, to help all those in
need, shape their future, and with many others realize their dreams for many of them out
there believe it is 'Rotary that brings Hope'. With us it is this hope, that "Rotary
Cares", gives 'Real happiness in helping others' realize their dreams.
